Lake Isabelle Hike, Oct 16 2011…

Sunday was a perfect day! The Broncos had a bye week, which means they couldnt lose and the weather couldnt have been better! For myself it was a much needed day as I have been itching to get outdoors as of late. The combination of great weather and awesome friends, made for an awesome hike and day. I had hoped to possibly spot a moose on our hike, mostly for photographic purposes and the experience of seeing these animals in their habitat, but maybe it was fortunate that I came across neither.

Lake Isabelle found within the Indian Peaks Wilderness, sits at an elevation of 10868 ft in a picturesque alpine setting beneath the Navajo, Apache, and Shoshoni peaks. Here are a few pictures from Sundays hike. Enjoy!

Back on track…

Well what turned out to be just 2 weeks off by way of a doctors orders, turned into more than a month and finally getting this issue totally taken care of. In between that time has been some visits from family whose first time visit to Colorado was a great success and on my part, poor scheduling of hikes. But I am happy to report that this weekend I am back on a trail headed on a hike to Lake Isabelle in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. The weather looks to be in the mid 70s to 80s here in the city, so a little cooler in the high country. Look for pics to be posted by Sunday evening.
